Solar Energy in City Limits

Electrical efficiency is always a good thing, however there are dangers associated with some of those efficiencies. Please be aware that if you are installing solar energy panels on at your home, you need to be in contact with the Electric Department beforehand. Solar panels can cause safety issues for linemen when repairing lines or restoring power during outages if they are not aware of their location beforehand.

Tree Trimming Around Power Lines

Never trim trees around electrical lines! If you see tree branches growing around power lines, please contact the Electric Department to have the lines safely moved for trimming.
