The City of Rupert has been recognized by “Trade & Industry Development” Magazine with a Corporate Investment & Community Impact Award (“CiCi” Award) forits recruiting efforts and partnership with the Frulact corporation. Featured in the publication’s March/April 2014 Edition, Rupert is recognized for working with the Southern Idaho Economic Development Organization (“SIEDO”) and the Portugal-based company to bring this new business to our community! The United States’ most concentrated cluster of food manufacturing firms and jobs is located in Southern Idaho! Research conducted by the Idaho Department of Labor, in conjunction with Region IV Development Association, Inc. , recently discovered that the South-Central Idaho area comprised of Cassia, Jerome, Minidoka, and Twin Falls Counties have a higher concentration of food manufacturing jobs and food processing firms than any other place in the United States. McCain Foods USA has announced plans to expand its Mini-Cassia manufacturing plant with the addition of a third production line.
